After Hayate wins the Butler Battle Tournament, the school superintendent wants him to join her Butler Corp of Darkness. In an effort to convince him she sends her mysterious butlers to defeat him. During the Academy Culture Fair, Nagi gets caught in the crossfire of a battle and is hypnotized by one of these butlers, causing her to no longer recognize Hayate, who has to find a way to break this spell and save Nagi.
